Welcome to JIN BAR. Our place for a “few” drinks and where to find some great food. Catch up with your friends, relax after a long day at work, impress a date or whatever mood you’re in.
The meaning of Jin is “true” in Korean. The inspiration for the JINBAR comes from Jinhee’s childhood memories of her dad coming home with fried chicken and ice cream every payday, which is monthly in Korea. For Jinhee, fried chicken and pizza are the ultimate comfort food, and JINBAR is her way of bringing the same comfort and happiness to Calgary’s people!
Our Décor is minimalistic added into our 105-year-old heritage building. Our open kitchen and pizza bar ensure we are not keeping any secrets. We strive to use true ingredients to create true flavours and provide you with a true experience!
Jinhee Lee graduated from the Calgary’s SAIT Professional Cooking Program.
Her accolades include winning The Canadian Gold Medal Plates, the Canadian Culinary Championship, and the PEI Chef Challenge. A season 6 finalist on Top Chef Canada and most recently participated as a chef and judge on Wall of Chefs.
At JIN BAR, everything revolves around showcasing our high quality, Korea-inspired food. Our carefully selected drink menu is designed to complement our complex flavour profiles.
Every month, we will be featuring different cocktails & food from our industry friends!
This month we will be featuring a cocktail from our special friend and renowned bartender, Christopher Cho! He is the owner of Ayden Kitchen and Bar, Little Grouse on the Prairie, Avenue Restaurant, Sticks and Stones, and Traditional Bitters in Saskatoon. He is a two-time National Caesar winner and is one of CBC Saskatchewan’s Future 40 winners.
Jin Jin Mule is a Korean-inspired cocktail that highlights Korean ginseng and Yuja (honey citron). The earthy and subtle sweetness of the ginseng perfectly complements the sweet citrus notes of the Yuja. A must-try drink!
